Trenchless Drain Repair – Plymouth
We were recently called out to a property in Plymouth to assist with a long-standing drainage issue. The customer had been experiencing blockages for over a year, caused by a collapsed drain located 1.8 metres below ground level—directly beneath a concrete staircase providing the only access to an upstairs flat.
A traditional excavation would have been both costly and highly disruptive. Instead, we opted for a trenchless repair solution, accessing the pipework via an inspection chamber located 7 metres upstream of the damaged area.
Our team began by vacuuming out sewage and debris to get a clearer view of the collapse. Using a specialist robotic cutter, we carefully removed a large section of damaged pipe and embedded rock—working methodically to prevent further disturbance to the surrounding structure.
After a day and a half of precise cutting and clearing, we were ready to install a structural silicate patch. This liner extended 2 metres from sound pipe upstream, fully covering the damaged section and sealing the drain entirely. The repair was successful, restoring full functionality to the system immediately.
A final CCTV post-repair survey confirmed the integrity of the repair, and we left behind a fully operational drain—and a very happy customer.
